My 2015 through a lens

posted in: Asia, Tips | 26

2015 comes to an end and it sure has been a year of some crazy travel with friends and family, some discoveries and some upheavals, abrupt changes and lots of memories. It has been extremely tough picking that one thing from myriad others but nonetheless, here are my 10 memorable moments of travel captured through a lens.

1) Discovering a new favorite – Hampi

Can never forget the stories and the “flashbacks” of our previous births that we had at Hampi – Thanks to our friends Kshitij and Sneha. Totally added the the spice to the place.

2) Beach Fun at Karwar

With Banana Boat rides, bit of island hopping and lots and lots of fun at the beach, this was a perfect Family Holiday.

3) Glowing sunsets of Gokarna

The numerous angles. the gorgeous reflections, long walks and the star studded skies of Gokarna will always remain in my memories.

4) Yellow Blossoms of Horsley Hills

A long drive with family to discover this obscure hillstation turned out to be a refreshing outing – what with the gorgeous yellow blooms welcoming us.

5) Fascinating Forts of Jaipur

At Amer Fort

One of my best captures at Amer Fort. So loved the history in this city.

6) Splendor of Jodhpur

Jodhpur with its Meherangarh Fort and Mandore Gardens totally awed me.

7) Exploring the Second Largest Wall in the World

Discovering Kumbhalgarh and its history was truly the highlight of my Rajasthan trip.

8) Falling in Love with Udaipur

Saheliyon ki Bari, Udaipur

I have mentioned it earlier and re-iterate it that if there is any city in Rajasthan that I totally fell in love with – it is Udaipur.

9) Desert and Camel rides with friends

Desert Fun at Jaisalmer

Riding the camels, the thrill of the jeep ride, watching the sunset and sunrise and of course, discovering the ghost towns and cenotaphs at Jaisalmer.

10) Playing tourist in my own city

At the Bangalore Palace
Re-discovering my own city has a thrill of its own. Loved playing guide to my daughter who though has been born here, is yet to know Bengaluru.

As I compiled this, I realised how difficult it is to pick that one moment. However, I do believe that the others are not of any lesser importance and will always remain in my memories for years to come. Here’s to an amazing 2015 and Cheers to a even better and brighter 2016. Happy New Year to all of you!
